3 months down, 6 to go

Friday, June 28, 2013

Hi all! I haven't been my active Sparky-self lately.

I'm trying not to obsess over my weight and what I'm eating.

I'm down 10 pounds since I got pregnant. I'm not actively trying to lose weight. I'm not following any specific plan. I'm definitely not exercising- I can barely keep my eyes open let alone go for a walk. I'm not eating any less (in fact, I'm eating more).

I'm hoping the next trimester will bring me energy and relief from food aversions (you couldn't pay me enough money to get me to eat a steak right now).

For those of you who know a little bit about my story- my mom and step dad struggle with mental illness, but won't seek help. They've been really REALLY hard on me since I found out I was pregnant (they usually are actually- I just thought they'd take it easy). I found a great support group online that's been helpful. I've decided to just keep them as far on the outskirts of my life as possible.

I hope all is well in the Sparking world!

I technically lost weight when I was pregnant because I shifted away from so much crap that I had been eating. No alcohol, not much fast food, not much junk food, lots and lots of fruit and veg.

There's no shame in marginalizing people who are hurtful to you. You can't help being related to them, but you don't have any obligation as an adult to take crap from anybody.
