Yard work is a great workout!

Friday, June 28, 2013

Yard work has it all - bending, stretching, walking, etc.

I am so tired. I forgot I had muscles!

If you are bored of your same old workout - try to get outside!

Of course, keep well hydrated and pace yourself. Also, be aware of your risks regarding heat strokes, etc.

YOU know your limits.

I also take my granddaughter for a walk every evening and I try to play with her in the yard if it's not too hot.

Kids are GREAT exercise. Their spunk can get you fit!

Have a blessed and wonderful weekend!

I agree on both counts - yard work is great exercise & kids can be great exercise.

Other than helping rake leaves in the Fall & doing some watering (both of which I totally enjoy), I generally have not helped with the work in our yards/gardens; however, this year I have ventured out & found it not so forbidding as I had once considered it to be. emoticon I espceially enjoyed knowing that any small chore I accomplished made it so that there was less for my cherished MrV to have on his list. He enjoys gardening & keeps our property looking great. We get lots of compliments from neighbors & once a gal actually stopped, while on her way driving past, & called over to my beloved MrV that she always enjoys seeing how "lovely" he keeps things looking. We later realized that she lived a few streets away from our home.

I have a SP friend who deliberately alternates the side of her garden when doing work. Her theory being that she gets more steps in by going back & forth from one side of her garden to the other after completing each chore.

I consider household chores as being good exercise, too.

God bless!

It's almost 100 degrees at 7am. I am going to have to wait until Fall to even think! I think this is going to be our hottest Summer, we are supposed to get to 117 Sunday, oh dear!! I could barely do my work out, the cooler was gasping trying to keep up. emoticon
