Spreading the Health...

Friday, June 28, 2013

The amazing thing about starting down this path to a healthier me, is seeing how my friends and family are reacting. When eating meals with any of them, and I whip out my iPhone to calculate the calories, conversation ensues, and the end result has always been an educational moment for those I'm with. The conversation always ends with them saying, "Wow... I had no idea the meal in front of me was taking up THAT much of what I should be eating in a day!" My wife has lost five pounds through her spin classes, my parents have renewed their habit for tracking calories, one of my employees has joined Spark People and is actively seeking weight-loss now, and so on and so on. On the flip side, it all serves to continue to inspire me to keep tracking my food and keep thinking of how I can improve my habits and routines. It's an incredible thing when we inspire each other, and so this is post is also a shout out to all my new Spark Friends who make the decision each day to be healthy, and to live life for all it's worth. I'm your biggest fan! :-D

So true! I feel solely responsible for my children's eating habits. And I can only hope to inspire them to live a healthy, fit life. It's great that you can be a motivational force :) emoticon

What we give comes back to us, doesn't it. One of my favorite sayings from Spark is to start each day vowing to make one positive action to reach my goal. Those positive actions are like potato chips -- you can't stop at one and they are a whole lot healthier. Kudos to you for your positive actions!

Life is a circle indeed. What we give purely, without expectation is what we get in return.
Inspiration, motivation, compassion, understanding.
I am very lucky to be in such an awesome circle - my spark circle!

Way to go inspiring others (and getting more inspired yourself in the process!). Motivation is definitely contagious. Keep up the great work!
