This is a recipe that is very different from any that I had used for green beans, but , had a friend share it at a "Slim-Trim" tasting dinner a few years ago and having made it recently thought that some of my SP friends might like it as much as we did.
SAUTEED GREEN BEANS WITH CUCUMBER
2 cans French Style green beans (I use my home canned beans- 1 qt.)
1/4 tsp garlic powder
3 tbsp. Butter Buds liquid
1/2 tsp cumin
1/4 tsp oregano
pinch cayenne pepper
2 tomatoes , chopped
2 cucumbers, peeled and chopped
1/2 tsp salt substitute
Spray skillet with Pam. Drain beans and put in skillet; add Butter Buds and spices. Cook stirring occasionally, 5 minutes. Add cucumbers and tomatoes to beans and cook 7 minutes longer.
Notes: If you want to use olive oil instead of Butter Buds I find it works and when I use gourmet cucumbers I do not peel them. I also like to use tomatoes unpeeled. Adjust to suit your family likes or dislikes.
