I'm off this morning to get my 6 month mammogram. Yep, you heard me right -- 6 months. That's my new timeline for a bit. Every 6 months I get the left one (Thelma) done (the one that threatened to kill me). At the 12 month mark, I get the other one (Louise) done, too.
It's really not so bad. That one mammogram I had in October 2012 saved my life. If I had waited even just 3 to 6 months longer, it could have been worse. Of course I'll never know that for sure, but I'm glad I don't know for sure.
Ladies & Gents: I just want to urge you to make sure you keep your doctor's appointments for preventative health screenings. No, it's not fun. It can be a pain (very literally), but it can save your life. I was able to avoid having chemo because the breast cancer was caught so early. That's the way it should be. It's so much less hassle that way.
Promise me that you'll call TODAY if there's an appointment you've been putting off.
Fight like a girl & hit like a boy!
Blessings to you!!
