BE GOOD, LOVE OTHERS, HELP OTHERS

There are three ways we can ensure to resist temptation in life. There are three things we can do that will work as guidelines to follow when we are tempted. They are be good, love others, help others. If what we are tempted to do is not good, we shouldn’t do it. If what we are tempted to do does not show love, we shouldn’t do it. If what we are tempted to do is for selfish gain and not helping others, we shouldn’t do it. We can be sure when we stay in God’s word, He will help us to think about our actions before we do them.

2 John 1:9 “Anyone who wanders away from this teaching has no relationship with God. But anyone who remains in the teaching of Christ has a relationship with both the Father and the Son.” (NLT)

Dear Lord, only You have the ability to help us be good, love others and help others. We can try on our own but we will not be successful. You have the goodness we need. You have the love we need. You have the guidance we need. Giving into temptation is not an option for us. Giving into to You and submitting ourselves to You so we can do what You call is to do is our only option. Help us today. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

When we decide to be good, love others and help others, giving into temptation will not be an option.

God doesn’t want us to work hard to resist temptation. He simply wants us to submit to Him and He will help us turn away from what is wrong.

When we are tempted to be alone because we believe we are shy or we are afraid, we can’t do good
things for others.

When we aren’t good, when we aren’t loving, when we aren’t helping, we are not setting the example for others that God wants us to set.

We need to be sure that the actions we take in life are not actions that tempt others to do wrong.

Matthew 18:7 “What sorrow awaits the world, because it tempts people to sin. Temptations are inevitable, but what sorrow awaits the person who does the tempting.” (NLT)
