I can't sleep, so I am sparking instead and thought I would write about my exercising yesterday.
During the day, I couldn't fit in a full 30 minutes from start to finish of exercise. So I decided little spurts are better than nothing. I wound up doing 5 minutes, 10 minutes and 15 minutes throughout the day. I did do my 30 minutes, but later in the evening I was laying in the couch watching tv. I decided I should go on my exercise bike. I did and was able to get another 30 minutes in so I did about 60 minutes with spurts. I really like this idea and I think it will help me. Even though my goal is to get 30 minutes of exercise in a day, if "spurting" will help me get more minutes in - why not?
There are so many times I can hop on my bike and get some exercise in. Like when I am waiting for breakfast to cook, or watching the news, or even when I am making dinner. Heck why not bike while I am on the phone instead of sitting? I guess when I think about it, there are many times I can hop on my exercise bike and get a few moments of exercise in.
Doing it this way today helped me to want to keep getting on the bike to get more minutes in.
I bought this bike about 2 years ago for about 90 bucks and it really was a great purchase. I wished the gadget worked for miles, and mph and all that. It doesn't but, it get me moving!
I am also hoping that doing my workouts like this will help me to rev up my metabolism.
I am convinced my metabolism stinks!
I thought I would share that if you can't devote a hugs chunk of time to work out - that you should try it in spurts - I know it helped me today! I think i will do it again tomorrow!
