Tomorrow it will have been exactly 2 years since I landed in Adelaide, South Australia for the first time. Australia had always been on my "places I have to go,but probably never will" list. Not really sure why, but just always wanted to come here, and I finally did..and it was the best decision I have ever made in my life.
A short version of why for those of you that don't know..2.5 years ago I was checking out Australia pages on facebook and had posted a comment..someone answered it..we started to kind of banter back and forth...the next thing I know I get a message..and after exchanging a few light messages we became friends...after a few weeks our messages turned into daily exchanges, as in every hour we were both awake we were chatting..considering the 15 hour time difference it would have been hard, but I was an early morning riser, and he would get up a little earlier each morning just to squeeze in extra chats. After a couple of months the decision was made that I would make that trip to Oz, and would have my very own personal tour guide. Of course the fact that I always wanted to come here was only part of the reason that I was traveling here and not the other way around..he is a father to twin teenage boys. I, on the other hand have no kids.
Well to keep this short, all I can say is that after the trips from hell to get here, it all disappeared the minute I walked up that ramp and saw him standing there..I immediately melted into his arms and knew I never wanted to leave.
2 years later, we are married, I have applied for my visa to live here permanently and we are both happier than we ever imagined being.
I won't get sappy..but he is the most wonderful person I have ever met in my life and I love him much more than I ever imagined I could love another person. We are blissfully happy..that flight 2 years ago changed my life in so many ways :)
So tomorrow we are going back to the first place we went after he picked me up at the airport to celebrate the happiest 2 years of our lives!
