I did it!

My work sent me out of town last week. I have been focused on eating healthy and working out. This was very much under my control when I was at home making my own meals. I wondered how I was going to do when I had less control.

Well I did pretty dang good. I didn't manage to work out every day (time change, working extra hours and getting to see an old friend didn't leave very much time) BUT I made sure to incorporate more movement throughout the day. I parked further away, walked the airport instead of using the people mover (moving sidewalk??), climbed the stairs (still won't go down them but that is a balance issue left over from some health issues).

I ate yogurt and fruit or multi-grain cereal for breakfast (thank goodness the hotels offered healthy breakfast choices). Lunch and dinner was harder but I still managed to choose healthy foods (well relatively healthy--I know it was probably high in sodium and preservatives).

I had a follow-up visit with my doctor this week. I have now lost a total of 30 pounds (in 5 months).

This time around my goal isn't to lose weight (it's a benefit though)--it is to get healthier, feel better and make healthy lifestyle changes/choices. This time I will be successful. I love and accept myself unconditionally and because of that I deserve to do things that keep me healthy.
