Wasted Time

Thursday, June 27, 2013

Ok, this is not going to be hard. When asked what wastes my time the most its definitely TV. I don't even need to do an time audit because my TV watching has been a big problem for a long time. I have tried many times to give up the habit but I was an only child that had to come home from school to an empty house. I was ok because I had my friend and babysitter, the TV. I am well aware of how I am NOT motivated to do anything because I might miss something, anything of importance on TV. I suppose I could figure out what shows I absolutely love and DVR those and forget the rest. I could spend that precious time taking care of myself and my family.

I agree w/ DESERT. Combining things that you love doing w/ other things that are helpful.

I'm not a big "TV-watcher" (I prefer to listen to music all day) but I know that I spend too much time online... Trying to do less of that this summer... I don't want my kids to remember their childhood as having a mom that was always on the computer! Good luck, I think you're on the right track! emoticon

You could make a rule for yourself that you have to do something active while watching TV. I have a rebounder (mini-trampoline) in front of my TV and will jump or run in place while watching. That way, I accomplish my cardio instead of being a couch potato.
