Summer Day 1 NSV

It's my first day of summer vacation.

I started with an early alarm clock for my summer job. Oh the life of a teacher. Really, though, it's been a nice, accomplished day that has me thinking a lot about - well - a lot.

My summer job is coaching, which went really well this morning. The kids were enthusiastic, well behaved, and more importantly committed to the workout all practice long. I also had another ST pays off moment. I felt so empowered.

So I moved onto the gym after work. This also was great. I did an hour jog, sweating the whole way through. It felt refreshing and rewarding - an odd combination when you have sweat dripping in your eyes, but hey, I'll take it! I didn't enter a group class, but it's on the goal list.

Then I came for lunch and had an "ah ha" cooking moment. We need "freggies" on a daily basis. So why not find the super tasty and filling ones! I was intending to make a breakfast bowl this morning and realized after prepping my veggies that we were out of eggs. So I grabbed the portabella mushrooms and got to work. For only 136 calories I sauteed potatoes, green peppers, mushrooms, and summer squash in coconut oil and garlic. I'm STILL full hours later and satisfied my "freggies" in one meal. Best out of eggs moment ever. I'm also trying to play with my calorie distribution, so I had an afternoon snack to replace after dinner snacking. It was delicious trail mix - protein and filling with the goal of changing up my calorie breakdown.

And so in my upswing day, I decided to head to the farmer's market, which was also great. The shelves had been restocked and I grabbed lots of freggies, ready to grill tonight for dinner.

I like to think it's been a good first day and I'm going to focus on more NSV (non scale victories) to keep a positive frame of mind. For now I am focusing on:

1.) Try a group exercise class.
2.) Redistributing my daily calories / eliminating after dinner snack
