Exercise excellent - Eating so so

Thursday, June 27, 2013

I set a goal to work out 6 days a week until I reach my goal weight. I joined 24 hour fitness and am doing very well. I do at least 1 hour of aerobics every day and 15 minutes of weights every other day, then I reward myself by sitting in the steamroom and whirlpool (heavenly!). I do pretty well most of the time with my eating (lean protiens, lots of veggies and some fruit) but when the weather changes to rainy, stormy, etc. I get really tired and sore and crave sugar like crazy. We have had a huge storm front for the last couple days with rain off and on and I want candy! I think my body is looking for a quick energy boost to combat the fatigue and achiness I get from the rain. I haven't gone completely off the deep end but I have eaten candy several times which is not in the plan. I'm not overly discouraged or anything but I wish I had better control of myself. It's self-defeating to work out so hard every day and then eat nutritionally bankrupt junk. It really takes a lot to lose weight when you get older and I'm finding it slow going. I feel like I'm stepping backwards by eating it. Onward I trudge in spite of myself.

Good job working out! Just remember that you can't out exercise a bad diet. So, if you feel like you need energy, try some fruit and nuts or something like that!
