Getting Serious

Thursday, June 27, 2013

So, I've returned again to Spark People after reading an inspiring story about someone who lost 130 pounds thanks to using this site. I've been going to TOPS meetings for the last two years and I lost 38 pounds. But recently our branch had a change in leadership and somehow the sparkle has gone from our meetings. Also, I've developed gut troubles and some depression, so I thought I might make a change in my approach. I've been reading about Mindfulness and diet and have decided to use Spark People for my community inspiration and use meditation as my support method to offset my cravings. We will see how this works. Is it just a matter of making a commitment to change?

Meditation is really helping me deal with the stresses of fibro and being overweight. I know that you will succeed and surpass emoticon your goals.

I dont think that's only it. I think it comes down to finding something you are really interested in to explore and help you exercise, or foods you want to explore like for example, trying to cook every single veggie in the produce aisle, even the weird ones you've never seen before. Self-challenges like that keep it interesting and less of a chore. I walk approx 5-6 miles a day by doing genealogical lookups while I'm walking. It doesnt even feel like exercise. good luck
