Today was SUCH FUN and I so wish my eyes had a built in camera in them. Today was the day I met my younger son, Cole, at the coffee shop. He's helicopter landed at 10.30 am this morning and he's off the rig and on land for the next two weeks. Normally I fetch him, but his lady love wanted to do it again and well, I guess its time to step back and watch the young ones do their thing. But its nice that he won't leave town before linking up and saying hello.
So, instead of being at the helipad, I met them at the coffee shop and I ran late which meant they were there just before me. Now, you must understand that the scale tells me what I've lost, while boot camp shows my how my body is shape changing, but the expression in Coles eyes tells me EVERYTHING ELSE I need to know.
He is not a man that compliments freely, it HAS to be deserved. There is NOTHING FAKE about Cole. So there, he and Nikki were sitting, she had her back to me and Cole was facing me. I walked in and he glanced my way, then looked away, then looked back and his whole face lit up and was wreathed in smiles. OH MY WORD, I wish I could have captured that look. Its been 6 weeks since he last saw me and he literally felt my arms, patted my flatter tummy etc. LOL quite amusing and somewhat embarrassing considering where we were. The first words out of his mouth were "Heavens Mom, how many kilos now....20?" Not quite, 15 kgs (33 pounds) and I am super delighted to have gotten there in such a short time. I began on the 1st March 2013 with the whole weight loss challenge and boot camp story.
These photo's were taken today.
Cole spilled his coffee all over me and took me to buy a new shirt. I finally fit into regular shop clothes. Its their largest size, but that's temporary also. At least I don't have to go running to the XXXXL shops anymore.
I'm also happy to think that this photo was taken at the beginning of April and I can see how my shoulders and stomach have shrunk.
And this photo was taken about 3 yrs ago, my stomach stuck out like a pregnant woman.
Cole is so delighted at my "new look" that he is treating our family to another go round at the Percheron Horse farm for lunch this time, instead of cake and coffee. Can't wait. It's my third time there, but the feeling of being over-awed at such ginormous horses never wears off.
I painted my nails today with one of my new nail varnishes, the purple one. Its rather nice. Very deep, almost black, but shines purple when the light catches my nails. I bought some nail decals for fun. I feel kind of light hearted at the moment because of my weight loss.
When things go right, its just great. I did a fair amount of shopping today for the weekend, which meant carrying packets and packets and packets in. I brought the last packet inside, ran back to close the windows of the car and as I set foot inside my house the rain came bucketing down. Now is that great or what?
That particular joy didn't last though. Something happened outside and the dogs went running out and barking. I heard them galloping down my passage (wooden floors) and into the lounge where I was sitting at the PC. Out the corner of my eye, I saw this "black thing" which was Bronson....pitch black face and chest and paws. I have no idea what happened, but it looked as though he toppled face first into mud? I had to wash him down, the passage, lounge..wherever he ran. Drat after having scrubbed my heart out just days ago. LOL the joys of giant dogs...giant paw prints when it rains. My dogs live indoors, but have freedom to go outside, even when it rains. I just clean up once a day or when the rain stops. Which-ever comes first. This was the after photo. I couldn't get a before photo without him smearing everything with black mud. Best I could do was wash him immediately.
Check those paws out...they were white once upon a time.
Today's been a relatively good eating day. I started with a meal replacement shake.
My first snack was a strange mix of strawberries and butter beans eaten separately of course
Lunch was cottage cheese mixed with spinach and garlic. Creamy and delicious and hot due to the cayenne pepper sprinkled all over it.
Afternoon snack was fat free yogurt with banana and apple.
Dinner could have been better.
I made salad rolls for hubby and I and grilled a lamb chop for protein.
This picture was taken of my sister and I, she has lost so much weight and is looking amazing also. I can't wait for us to be able to wear each others clothes again like we did as teens.
So that's it.....15 kgs down (33 pounds) and the week nearly done. Saturday I will be at our assembly all day, and have already decided to take something really healthy for the lunch break. I don't want to fall away from my good habit. Sunday will not be quite as easy to control since we are having lunch out at the horses. I will email them and find out what their menu looks like, maybe they have something quite healthy on it. Wouldn't that be great.
