Summer Days

It's amazing how fast summer days can get away from you! I completely missed my exercise today but I feel like I haven't slowed down all day! Cleaning, watering, yard work (there is ALWAYS yard work but it's so worth it), visiting with friends, playing and creating with kids and doing a little bit of real work, all of a sudden I realize that I have not exercised! Not one bit and I left my Fitbit on the night stand most of the day! Doh!

Tomorrow is going to be another full day. Some friends came up (you don't get to say someone came "up" to see you very often when you live in San Antonio!). We're all going to Fiesta Texas tomorrow and they want to stay from opening to closing. We've never done that. I'm not sure my kids can handle it that long but we'll see what happens. Last time we were at the park, I took my Fitbit off because we were in the water park for so long, so it sat in my bag in a locker most of the day and I forgot to put it back on that evening when we came home, but when I went to track my steps I still had over 8,000 steps. I was amazed and wondered how many I would have had if it had been on all day! So now I just need a waterproof tracker! ;-)

The kids and I made more popsicles today. We've had a lot of fun with that. Today we blended up oranges, strawberries, the juice from one lime and 2 mangoes because we accidentally made it too sour with the lime but the 2nd mango helped cut that. We're having a lot of fun experimenting with popsicle flavors. Plus, I know exactly what's in them and they get something cold and healthy during the summer that they made. They really like that part.

I'm going to get my sit-ups and push-ups done before we leave in the morning and I'm taking a few healthy snacks. I'll continue trying and working towards a healthier lifestyle everyday!

  movement should count, but we don't put as much effort into it as into exercising.

    Sometimes a full day is just as good as exercise. No, it doesn't tone everything up, and doesn't help your calorie count. But the accomplishment factor is worth it. A happy body is a healthy body.

So, I'm glad you had a productive day! Get those calories burned early and enjoy the festivities tomorrow.
