Tame Your Sweet Tooth Challenge, Week 2, Blog 2

Wow, at the end of today I came up short by almost 500 calories. I've been a little nauseated all day and just didn't eat much: toast for breakfast, a salad for lunch, a little short grain brown rice and peas with zucchini for dinner. I snacked on a peach and some fresh pineapple that's nice and cold because I have it in the refrigerator. Nothing really interested me. So I did a bad thing and made a double batch of Single Serving Chocolate Brownie just to make up the calories, more because I felt the need for something less acidy than fruit or veggies and the brownie came to mind because it was on the side panel of SparkPeople today. So I didn't actually give in to a craving, but I could have made a better choice, I just don't know what.

On a happy note: this morning I walked the Rock Island Trail again and the Western Spiderwort are in bloom:

I love it that everything about them comes in threes instead of fives the way most plants do. The Prickly Poppies are too:

And the prickly Pear cactus which cover the sides of the embankments:

Yucca will be open in a day or two.
