Keeping on course, but knowing when to let loose.

Wednesday, June 26, 2013

I kept faithfully to my food and exercise plan since Mother's Day & lost 9.5 pounds, after wasting half a year seesawing back and forth by 5 pounds. I am delighted with these results.
This weekend, we are going to our friends' wedding at a lovely restaurant. I plan to enjoy it, but if I stuff myself, I'll feel rotten & won't have as much fun.
So I'm going to pick and choose what I eat. The wedding is in the early afternoon, so I'll have breakfast & a light lunch before we go. I'll probably pass up hors d'oeuvres at the cocktail hour--they are always too filling and too rich. I'll eat what I want at dinner, but focus on conversation instead of food.
There will be wedding cake. I haven't decided if I will eat any. I'm driving, so no cocktails or wine for me.
That's my plan & I'm sticking to it, because the following weekend, we are going to a 3-day yoga workshop. I will have more fun if I feel strong and physically fit.
