Staying Healthy on Vacation

I just got back from a weeklong vacation. My BF and I flew to Albuquerque. His dad passed away last year and had a storage unit that we needed to clean out. We had no idea what we'd find. It was a large unit, filled to the gills, and we cleaned it out in 2 days. I didn't track my exercise but I got in a LOT of minutes. emoticon It was hard but rewarding work. My BF did not have a great relationship with his dad so it was fun to look over his life and learn about him. Nearly all of the stuff we junked, but he wanted to keep about 10% of it. We moved it to a smaller unit and plan on going back to retrieve it later this year.

We rented a car and drove onward to Flagstaff. We wanted to see the Grand Canyon and thought Flagstaff would make a good "base camp." I don't mean to sound ungrateful, but we did not love the Grand Canyon. It was nice and pretty and all that, but just a little walk around in the heat and we felt done. We spent one night in a disgusting motel (why doesn't Flagstaff have any decent hotels?!), got up early, and the heck out. Our final destination was Las Vegas.

As for food, we ate WELL. It was a meat-heavy trip but overall I think the food was healthy(ish). My BF, bless him, is not as health-conscious as I am so he wanted to eat ice cream... nearly every day. emoticon How could I argue... on vacation? emoticon
