Gentleness and Strength

'Nothing is so strong as gentleness, nothing is so gentle as real strength. " Francis de Sales

I was really good to me today . I was both gentle and strong. I started the day by oversleeping . I like to call it getting the sleep I need. That is why this blog is so late.

Even though I slept extra I still had a great breakfast . I managed to laugh at work today. Better yet my co-workers laughed at my joke so we all had a good day.

For lunch I had a salad not just any salad but a salad with home grown lettuce from my garden that I picked.!!!It also had Swiss chard, kale , and spinach all from my garden.!!!I also added protein, low fat chicken and a little cheese and almonds yum.!!

I had my ice tea and drank all my water over ice to beat the heat 95 today . Heat rises guess who works on top of conveyors . We have a lovely view of the plant, they call us the ladies of the towers ,but boy does it get hot.

After work since I was already hot ,I put my strength to the test and did some circuit training with weights at the gym. Got my cardio in by lifting weights with no rest in between.
Reason, I wanted to go the farmers market that is only open on Wednesday . There I bought turnips , broccoli , radishes, green onions and pea pods all for under 10 dollars. These are vegetables not ready in my garden yet. I got some tips by some really nice farmers . Highlight was seeing a four year old eat a carrot and telling the farmer it was good.

Got home in record time to make pasta. I used canned tomatoes , added herbs from my garden , sage parsley oregano , rosemary , chives, and thyme . To that I added some left over boneless chicken thighs . And yes some broccoli . The pasta was wheat with extra fiber . Yum!!!

After supper me and my faithful white American eskimo dog mischa walked around the block, even though it was still muggy and hot. We both felt a small walk was in order.

All in all an awesome day where I was both gentle and strong . Tell me all about your adventures and always remember to be both strong and gentle with yourself and others. hugs

Your own fresh veggies for a salad-great! And a trip to the farmer's market to buy what you don't have-excellent. Sounds like you did just fine. I am sure I would enjoy working in the towers with you. I certainly don't mind the heat. Hope today is cooler. HUGS!
