Finding the Right Diet for You

This isn't really about weight loss. This is about my struggle to gain some control over my health - especially inflammation. I think I need to do that before I can lose weight since I already exercise 5 to 6 hours a week plus eat within my calorie limits. Yesterday my inflammation levels were sky high. I think I was all swollen inside. I was trying to eat dinner and I started to choke because my esophagus was so swollen. I've switched to a low histamine diet and I've "lost" 2 pounds overnight just from some of the inflammation going down.
I was doing a combination of low carb and the GAPs diet to try and deal with inflammation that way. It turns out that both low carb and the GAPs diet are high histamine diets. I was getting sicker, not better. Now that inflammation has been triggered, it is really hard to get it under control.
My son is having terribly bad allergies to the point where he almost can't function. He is so dopey and miserable. He's doing the low histamine diet with me now too. That reminds me that I also need to focus on his water intake. Dh (an RN) thinks he is dehydrated.
