Challenge to change the way I respond to weight loss stress

When the scale goes down, I do my happy dance. I imagine myself moving magically towards my goal and I am hopeful.

When the scale goes up I get discouraged and depressed.

In the past, I would give up. Things were "not working and never would".

I have been on my updated plan, revised meds, and renewed fitness for more than 3 months now, and I don't plan on giving up.

I am still discouraged, but as I read the success stories from the stars on Sparkpeople, I feel encouraged.

This time is different, and I will keep going. Health and fitness are improving every day! The scale is just one piece of the puzzle.

My blood sugar readings are great.

I am tracking every day and keeping my calorie intake to around 1500 calories a day.

I will get there!

    You have a good attitude. Don't give up, pay state to how you feel, how your clothes fit, things like that. Jut keep working it and it will ork!

    That your health and fitness is improving and you have medical reading improvements are fantastic. We need to focus on those very real things so that we don't get discouraged when the scale doesn't go down or actually goes up.

    When my scale goes up, I ignore it and keep on doing the right things. Because I want to keep on going down and if I beat up on myself and give up, that won't happen. You are doing good Sally...keep on taking good care of yourself. emoticon

    Are you seeing overall progress continually? I have the worst time with losing 3 lbs then gaining is SO frustrating. I have found that I need to just weigh myself ever other week...that or I'm gonna murder my scale.
