IF YOU HAVE LOST YOUR BEST FRIEND RESENTLY---READ THIS

Wednesday, June 26, 2013

I KNOW YOUR HEART BROKEN---BUT DO YOU THINK YOUR FRIEND WOULD WANT YOU TO BE ALONE ? MY CALLIE AND I WERE TOGETHER FOR 14 YRS AND I NEVER WANTED TO FEEL AGAIN--BUT WHEN I THOUGHT ABOUT IT , I REMEMBERED HOW HARD IT WAS FOR MY CALLIE TO LEAVE ME--IT WAS ONLY WHEN I TOLD HER IT WAS TIME TO GO AND I WOULD BE OK, DID SHE GO. NOW MIND YOU I AM NOT TRYING TO REPLACE CALLIE, BUT I DID JUST WHAT SHE WANTED ME TO--AND THAT WAS TO FIND ANOTHER FRIEND TO LOVE--ONE THAT NEEDED ME. SHE IS HER OWN DOG AND IS MAKING HER OWN PLACE IN MY HEART. SHE KNEW I WAS GRIEVING AND SHE NEVER PUSHED AND WHEN I WAS SAD, SHE WOULD COME PUT HER HEAD ON MY SHOULDER AND COMFORT ME. SHE HAS DONE HER BEST TO MAKE ME LAUGH AND SHE TAKES THAT JOB SERIOUSLY. OR SHOULD I SAY THAT HAS MADE IT HER PROIORTY. SHE HAS DONE EVERYTHING FROM ROLL IN HORSE MANURE, TAKE OVER MY BED, PLAY IN THE MUD, ,POOPED IN MY SEWING ROOM FLOOR, BECAUSE SHE WAS PISSED AT ME, AND LATELY SHE NOW HAS TAKEN OVER THE FISH POND AS HER OWN.--I WILL ALWAYS MISS MY CALLIE--BUT I AM GLAD I ALLOWED MYSELF TO TAKE ANOTHER DOG AS MY BEST FRIEND --I KNOW THAT MY SWEET ANGEL CALLIE IS HAPPY TOO--BECAUSE SHE SENT THIS SPECIAL FRIEND TO ME. emoticon emoticon

It works the same way with kitties. I lost my Lady Gwendolyn after nearly 19 years; that's longer than I've lived with any other human being, including my mother. It took me more than two years ...

But now we have THREE wonderful kitties ... a triple failed foster that we are proud of.

Enjoy ... and I agree it's what Callie would want ...

Thanks so much for a beautiful post, Pat. We haven't thought about a new dog yet but I am sure we will sometime soon.

Again, Thanks!

Hugs, Sunny

Strange how I happened on this blog today. Having to get dog put down today. He was with us for 13 years. My kids, 9 and 8 have never known life without him! So hard. Very unfair that they have such a short life span and we are always going to lose them at some stage. At least he had a good life with us. Our other dog is 2 and also never knew other than having him around.

I have always believed that we choose our next pet with the guidance of the one we have lost. Of all the dogs in the world, there is a reason we pick the one we do, and it is with the blessing of our previous one. Sandy brought me Jasper, and Jasper brought me Kayla.
