Tales From the Library...

Wednesday, June 26, 2013

So since the family I nanny for is off on a European vacation, I decided to use my extra time and volunteer at a couple of local libraries this summer.

For those of you that volunteer now or have in the past, my dodger hat is off to you.

I love being at the library. Books give me that warm feeling inside and I love interacting with kids who are continuing the love for literacy. It's some of the very colorful staff that I am getting worried about.

There's a person who we will just call M, that is grating on my already raw nerves. He feels the need to come approach us volunteers every 5 minutes and tell us how to do our task, or tell us what we are doing wrong. I am all for constructive criticism, but I didn't sign up for 6 hours of dictatorship a week. I would understand his need to "help" if we were sitting there without a care in the world. But we are capable individuals who by most accounts from the patrons, are very helpful and kind. So it is my firm belief that M is in need of a power trip and will exert it upon us poor volunteers. Somebody find that man a copy of 50 Shades of Grey and let him release some pent up frustration....I bet he could check out a copy from our local library.

Well that's enough whining for today. Foodwise I stumbled by not eating breakfast but I am about to have lunch and I have a great workout coming my way this evening so let's hope that will improve my sour mood.

P.S. - Dodgers are 2-0 in the series against our World Series Champs :D

Take care!

Aw thank you. You're right, I am always going to encounter tough people no matter where I am, the important thing is to not lose myself.

You're a sweetheart

There are always a few stinkers at the workplace, whether it is daily job, volunteer, or just going to to senior center, hang tight
