I thought I did good last week

Wednesday, June 26, 2013

I went on my first deployment to help with the OK tornado animal victims last week. There was a temporary shelter for them and I was working in the small dog area. I worked my butt off!! My clothes were starting to bag on me. I thought for sure I lost a few pounds, but I didn't! In facted I gained a couple. In addition, my feet and ankles are so swollen! We were required to wear boots while working and the days were very long. It was one of the most rewarding things I've ever done and hope I can do it again if they have a need.

I don't really know how many calories I burned, but more than a normal day of my life, that's for sure! My eating was OK, but not great. I was starving and ate what ever they brought, but only one portion. My pants felt more lose by the end of the week. Sadly when I got on the scale today, I gained a few pounds. I know that's not the only measure, but still... emoticon

I just read this blog . . . sorry I haven't been keeping up like I used to. Sounds like you had a great experience. I'm sure that the extra weight was water retention. Hope you are doing well and staying dry.

Feet, ankles swollen?'ll shed that quickly enough I'm sure! :-)

Great job helping out! I'm sure there are many animals still relishing your help.
