I'm still around - just not very vocal...

Wednesday, June 26, 2013

I'm still here, though I haven't been doing well on my program the past couple of weeks - between Mark's depression (he's better for now) and his graduation, it has been hectic and draining.

I was pretty emotional leading up the graduation. It breaks my heart that Mark missed out on his whole senior year and the graduation ceremony. But his mental health comes first.

Anyway, sorry for being so silent lately - when I'm feeling less brittle, I'll be more vocal, I promise.

A couple of pics from the grad party:

The two grads - Mark is sitting down, his cousin Brandon is standing:

And this is what happens when an 11 pound puppy tries to party all day with the big folks:

Wow, I just listened to the bandcamp link you posted on a previous blog, and that kid has talent AND creativity. I hope he keeps working on new stuff to share. Creating is tough work but he's clearly got a lot of potential.

Glad you're back on here and congratulations to Mark!! Devin had to come home to school for the last 3 years of high school and so we had a party for him when he graduated, but also no ceremony. He didn't seem to mind, though. I know how hard it is for us as parents when our children do not do the things that we considered part of our growing up, but they are making progress as strong young men in their own time. emoticon

I've missed you here Amy, but totally understand why you haven't been around as much. What you have been dealing with have definitely been priorities! I am glad to hear that Mark is doing better, and hope he remains so for a long time! It is sad that he had to miss his senior year at school, but you're right: his mental health definitely comes first! He will have plenty of time to form new memories. Congratulations to Mark on his graduation! After all he's been through, I know how proud you must be! Your pictures are lovely, and I want to give the puppy a nice big cuddle! :)

Amy, I missed reading your blogs. I'm glad Mark is doing better. I sometimes think that parents miss important activities in their children's lives more so than the kids do. At least he graduated and has his music. You will get back into your healthy life style soon. I know you will.

i am glad that Mark is doing some better. It is unfirtunate when these things interfere with their school years but there is not a lot to be done about that.He has other accomplishments to be proud of, namely, his music! It will take him places if he chooses to let it!

Glad you are still around, after a long haul through all these events and troubles. You will turn around and be back on track when your heart and mind are not so distracted from the things that life throws at you. We all have those times one way or the other, sooner or later. All we can do is be there for those that need that helping hand or friendly ear to listen.

Any time, email me. Big warm hugs to you

Good to hear from you and thanks for sharing your family's celebration. I'm still around too but have not had time nor energy for blogging or keeping up with people. Am trying to figure out how to "do it all".
