Tired no matter how much sleep I get.

Wednesday, June 26, 2013

I wake up tired almost every morning. I have gone through so much for several months and it is catching up to me. I try to keep myself busy during the day. I get tired during the day, like I need a nap, but when I try to sleep, I can't fall asleep. I also have a hard time falling asleep when I go to bed. I lay in bed for about 1 hour before I fall asleep. I guess it will just work itself out and get better.

I agree with PMFISH that stress has probably taken it's toll, and continues to do so. Are your thoughts preventing you from falling to sleep or does it feel like your body just won't shut down for the night? If it's you body and not from racing thoughts, supplements may be something to experiment with. If it's thoughts, I've found that concentrating on just one word "sleep" helps me. I just say in over and over in my head and try to keep to only that word instead of thinking on anything else. It's harder than one might think, but has helped my mind rest so my body can follow.
    Prayers continuing for you!

I don't know your age but if you are peri-menopause or post menopause your hormones can affect your sleep. I say my prayer and then count sheep. Usually I feel really tired after I have included all my family, friends, neighbors, SP buddies and everyone in the world with issues.

The harder you workout doing cardio and strengthening the sleepier you get!

Good luck and god bless you! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Have you tried melatonin? It can be really helpful.

I have lots of trouble with insomnia and have to work my way through a number of tricks. Getting away from the computer and TV for an hour before bed and just reading seems to help.

It's very frustrating to not sleep. You have my empathy.

I have the same problem. I never get a really good night's sleep, but if I stick to a regular schedule, it is much better than when I don't.

When I had the nurse taking care of me, she had me take 50mg zinc and 500mg magnesium along with 5.HTP. In fact I took the zinc and magnesium last night and I slept very sound and woke up with more energy than I had all last week. The stress has depleted your system of valuable vitamins and minerals. One size does not fit every one when it comes to supplements, but they just might help you. Hope you get your energy back soon.
