Day #69, Monday, 6/24/13 was a great day.
Here's the exercise that I did Monday (6/24/13):
7.1 miles of walking - Monday's lunch walk was to the George Mason Memorial
Ok, it's definitely summertime now. The temperature around lunch time was over 90 degrees. I definitely had to take a water with me on the lunch walk. The only problem is that it only stays cold for a little while, but the time I reach the halfway point, the body heat from my hand has turned the water lukewarm, I'll need to start freezing the water before I go on my lunch walks. Here are some more pictures from the walk:
It felt good. Monday was the first day in quite a while where I was able to get all 3 of my walks in for the day (morning, lunch and afternoon). But the highlight of the day was actually in the evening at LA Fitness. I attended my first spinning class which was also my first time attending an exercise class period (except for the one time I went to the water aerobics class that my mom teaches). Here's a picture of me after the class was over:
The class was INTENSE! I literally had a small pool of sweat under my bike when it was over. The class ran about 50 minutes and I did a 10 minute warmup before we started. I really enjoyed it. The instructor, Sylvia, was really nice, had a great sense of humour and had an awesome playlist. I also liked the fact that before she got started she went around to everybody to make sure that there bike was set correctly (seat height and handlebar height). I was very surprised at the makeup of the class, I was thinking that it would be almost all women, but more than half of the class was men. The only thing that caught me off guard was how uncomfortable that bike seat was, it got better as the class went on though, especially since she had us standing up and pedaling quite a bit. I'll try to add this class to my workout routine. I'll try to go every Monday evening (can't make her Wednesday class).
So I had a great day. I feel like I'm back in the saddle with my food and exercise after the rough few days I had last week.
