So close.... using C25K

I have been doing the C25K program and I am on final week.... what an awesome program.

It always starts with a 5 minute walk to warm up and a 5 minute walk to cool down... but my first week was 1 minute jogging with 1 1/2 minute walks alternating for 20 minutes... eventually you work up to longer jogging.... less walking....

Every time it increased the jogging I felt like I would never make it through the entire thing... week 4 jumped to 5 minutes jogging and had to repeat that week a couple times till I made it through the 5 minutes. Thought for sure I was gonna die in end of week 5 when it increased to 8 minutes.

then week 6 hit me.... a full 20 minute jog...OMG no way.... let me tell you I repeated that week more than a few times.... but I eventually got through the 20 minutes without walking... what an awesome feeling....

now I am on my final week.... 5 minute warm up 30 minute jog and 5 minute cool down... my goal has always been to get my 5k under 30 minutes... so this is the perfect practice for me... yesterday I did 2.98 miles in 30 minute part of the program...... SO CLOSE.... my next race is July 4th and July 6th so I have until then to keep practicing with this to get it there...

But the thing that really hit me was thinking back to when I first started this program and not being able to do the 3 minute or 5 minute jogs.... now I can run for 30 minutes straight... that is one totally awesome feeling...
