i fear when i type this that some people will think this is... over dramatic. but please keep in mind that i am completely miserable, itchy, and in pain, and please see the ... timeliness of my quiet times i have been having w/my personal life, and please be patient with the line of thinking i am going with all this.
to begin with, i am on my 4th day of steroids. i had an incredibly high reaction to poison ivy. the doctor thought it was sun poisoning-but i pointed out to him it was weeding my bushes, and i only had 20 minutes to get the job done before the sun was going away.he had to admit it was poison ivy. but he had never seen such a bad reaction. it is all over my face, neck, chest, stomach, back and upper part of my legs. i was wearing long sleeve shirt and jeans at the time of the weeding. i went from looking like i was covered in 2nd degree burns, to chemical burns. i look gross. and i feel so guilty about it, because i realize how vain i am. anywhos, on with my scriptures assigned to me.: 2 chron 26:16-21
But when he was strong, he grew proud, to his destruction. For he was unfaithful to the Lord his God and entered the temple of the Lord to burn incense on the altar of incense. 17 But Azariah the priest went in after him, with eighty priests of the Lord who were men of valor, 18 and they withstood King Uzziah and said to him, “It is not for you, Uzziah, to burn incense to the Lord, but for the priests, the sons of Aaron, who are consecrated to burn incense. Go out of the sanctuary, for you have done wrong, and it will bring you no honor from the Lord God.” 19 Then Uzziah was angry. Now he had a censer in his hand to burn incense, and when he became angry with the priests, leprosy broke out on his forehead in the presence of the priests in the house of the Lord, by the altar of incense. 20 And Azariah the chief priest and all the priests looked at him, and behold, he was leprous in his forehead! And they rushed him out quickly, and he himself hurried to go out, because the Lord had struck him. 21 And King Uzziah was a leper to the day of his death, and being a leper lived in a separate house, for he was excluded from the house of the Lord. so, this was assigned the day before the first spot or so...and i too have gotten too proud for my britches. i too, have thought i was too strong. and i too, have taken on jobs that GOD DID NOT ASSIGN NOR REQUEST ME TO DO. HE GAVE SOMEONE ELSE THAT JOB. soooo, God gave me this high high reaction to poison ivy to stop me in my tracks, slow me down, and say NO. I SAID NO. :( but had i figured that out yet??? noooooo,. i didn't. 2nd part of the saga, if still interested, in next blog.
