Bathing suit shopping. Arg and Yay.

So, I desperately needed a new bathing suit. It's been about 8 years since I last got one. My bathing suit is one of those tankinis, and the bottoms are kind of like little shorts. I have a long torso, so I really can't wear one-pieces comfortably. It's brown, and has pink and orange flowers on it. Not the worst bathing suit in the world, but it's a long way from the cute bikinis I used to have. *sigh* lol...
Over the past several years, my bathing suit has stretched and has accidentally gone in the dryer, etc. It is way too big and I have to tuck the top into the bottoms when I swim, so it doesn't float up around my throat. I'm not even going to explain how INadequate the bra in that thing is. Dang. Long story short, it needed replacing. During dinner tonight, I told Husband about my great experience at the pool today...I also told him that I really, really needed a new bathing suit. So, after dinner we went bathing suit shopping. Maybe I should re-state that.
AFTER DINNER, I WENT BATHING SUIT SHOPPING. ----------- insanity?
As if I don't feel crappy enough while trying on bathing suits, I decided to do it after eating a big meal. What was I thinking? I ended up finding a black one-piece of all things (it has some colors along the side) and I also tried on some black running shorts that I can wear over it. I just feel more comfortable that way. I found some green running shorts with lime trim that are SO CUTE! I got them too, just for running. I also have goggles now and while we were at the store I got a swim cap. A couple weeks before school got out, I bought a new pair of workout shoes...I think I've only worn them a couple of times, believe it or not. So! I'm feeling GREAT. I have all kinds of new swim gear, new shoes and new running shorts (I can start my Couch-to-5K training!) YAY!
So exciting. I haven't been this excited about exercising in I don't know how long. The great thing, is that I was excited BEFORE I got all this stuff. It was the excitement that prompted me to go out and get what I needed so I can give this a more dedicated effort. I'm proud of myself, and really looking forward to the future, and to working out. Wow...did I just say that?! Yep. Yes I did.
