DONíT FOLLOW THE WICKED
It is so easy to get caught up in a trap of temptation where we give in and then find ourselves facing situations we never thought we would have to face. We may try to get out of the situation by not telling the truth. We may try to get out of the situation by covering it up. We may try to get out of the situation by running away. However, nothing we do can remove the results from our actions. Itís best to stay away from the advice of the wicked who will tempt us but if we are tempted, itís best to come clean as soon as possible. We canít remove what was done but we can repent and ask God for forgiveness.
Psalm 1:1 ďOh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers.Ē (NLT)
Dear Lord, we know we have all done something we have been ashamed of. There are things each of us have done that no one knows but You. We have found ourselves in situations that led us the wrong direction because we chose to hang out with the wrong people. When we followed them rather than You, we just got deeper and deeper in sin. Help us today, Lord, to come clean and turn away from wrong and seek forgiveness and choose to follow You. In Jesusí name. Amen.
It seems the more you run from things the more things there are to run from.
The more you try to avoid someone or something, the bigger the problem is going to get.
The more you try to get out of something, the harder it will be to do later.
The greater the lie, the bigger it grows.
Wrongdoing that covers up other wrongdoing will eventually lead us into a trap that we canít escape.
When we give into temptation, we are not leading others to God.
Colossians 3:25 ďBut if you do what is wrong, you will be paid back for the wrong you have done. For God has no favorites.Ē (NLT)
