a former co-worker of mine has been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia. He's in his late 40s. He and his wife are having a really tough time. Here's some info on this type of dementia.
heartbreaking. Please remember Rob and Sarah in your prayers. On a happy note, they just welcomed their 1st grandchild; a healthy baby boy.
my friend Martha had her 7th eye surgery on the same eye for glaucoma today.
another friend, Chris, who recently retired has been diagnosed with stage 2 bladder cancer
other friends, the Wyatts, have a 1 year old grandson who has leukemia
way too much bad news! Please pray for all of them.
and a totally unimportant but interesting observation on my running:
Saturday I was trying for an endurance run. I walked a lap, ran 11 laps, then walked a cool down lap. 5.5 miles in 106 minutes
Sunday I worked on speed, so I did intervals. 5.5 miles in **104** minutes. LOTS more walking, but my overall time was 2 minutes faster.
so WHY do I feel so bad about taking a walk break???
anywho...my Sunday run playlist:
You Know My Name - Chris Cornell
Cherry Poppin' Daddy - Cherry Poppin' Daddies
Cold as Ice - Foreigner
Everything to Everyone - Everclear
As Long as It Matters - Gin Blossoms
Hitchin' a Ride - Green Day
Rock Me On the Water - Jackson Browne
King of the Road - Roger Miller
Spirit on the Water - Bob Dylan
The Middle - Jimmy Eat World
Honey Bee - Tom Petty
Breakdown - Tom Petty
Sharp Dressed Man - ZZ Top
Love Song - Sara Bareilles
My Body - Young the Giant
Never There - Cake
King of Anything - Sara Bareilles
that Young the Giant tune is one of my favorites! I was singing the chorus out loud (in a whisper, but I know people probably thought I was crazy) "My body tells me no, but I won't quit 'cause I want more!"
Spark on...and THANKS for remembering Rob, Sarah, Martha, Chris, and the Wyatt family in your prayers
