"Now, Don't Freak Out..."

Monday, June 24, 2013

Isn't that the worst thing someone can say? And doesn't it lead to immediately freaking out? This is what my daughter said to me yesterday, in the garage, of all places! She wanted to know where I would live if the sell the place. There are no immediate plans to do so, but John is making noises regarding how easy it would be if they actually lived in Prestonwood. That's the country club, with all the amenities right there--golf, tennis, swimming-- you get the picture.

So I wasn't too crazy about the idea of once again striking out on my own, and it's not definite that they wouldn't be able to get a place with a mother-in-law apartment or something, but then I started thinking about how it could be. There's a nearby community where I would really love to live if I could be downtown and walk to everything, but investigation today revealed that the only affordable properties were in dire need of repair or even of adding a bathroom. THE bathroom! So I started looking at townhouses, but they wouldn't be in the desirable area, thus defeating the purpose of moving to this town. Then just a while ago I started looking closer to home, thinking the prices would be prohibitive. Well, not so much! There's a place with 3 bdr/2ba for $87/sq ft. It's near very nice trails and the complex has a pool. AND it comes fully furnished! AND I like the furniture!

So what I need to do now and see if it's even remotely feasible for me to do this. I don't know how they determine eligibility in a situation like mine, where I have very little income but can free up a good piece of change for a down payment. Sounds like an ideal place to rent out for a while to responsible people. Definitely worth checking out.

Oh, Alison, don't freak out, but Mom may be getting into real estate! And you may be losing your built-in babysitter! But I'd probably stay here as long as I can anyway...

Well, that is diturbing - even though it's only
a thought, it leaves you vulnerable. Hmmm indeed.
Maybe start looking at other options so that you can
have a back-up plan should one be needed. Keep your
options open. emoticon

Ok, I would definitely pursue that property! Change might do ALL of you good. Hmmm...definitely Alison would not have a built in baby sitter!

HUGS and good luck in your real estate venture.

I can't believe your daughter would just abruptly leave you hanging. If that is remotely possible I would do as you are and start planning for my future.

Well now, you have many possibilities to choose from, you just need to find them all and start the considerin'! Nothing changes, if nothing changes :-)
Oh I wonder what changes may happen, it seems it could be exciting, the possibilities!
