Our morning began by getting Maegann off for Kids Camp. Where we were to meet her ride was actually on the way for Tim as he went to work so he took her. About half an hour into what would have been her ride up to camp I realized she hadn't packed a warm jacket or coat. It wasn't on the list the camp sent for packing. I made a quick call to the camp and was thankfully able to arrange for credit card funds to be used only for the purchase of a heavy sweatshirt/jacket. I then left a message for my friend that drove them up today and she let me know that message was received by Maegann and she knew to go buy something this morning once she was settled. Whew! It's going to be cold up there tonight and stormy because it is cooler and stormy here.
Isaac just kept to himself most of the morning so I settled in to get co-op work accomplished. I am loving that I am so far ahead of things for September this year! I made such a mistake last year trying to save it all for one week while the family was gone. Got our contract meeting arranged with the church for Wednesday morning. Will be glad to have that out of the way.
About 11:30 I took Isaac to the library and then he wanted to go to Taco Time for lunch. I was okay with that for something different and special for him on our first day without his sister.
Once home he worked on his Lego battle (recreating a photo from a storybook) while I got my Wii Fit accomplished. Wasn't long after that he was mining for electronics marbles (chores) and then he wanted to play Wii Football. I took my nap during the game.
Headed to Mongolian BBQ for supper (had a coupon from co-op) and then came home and cleaned my desk and the schoolroom. Smells & looks much nicer!
Tomorrow Isaac has a field trip at 10 and then he's going to a friends for most of the afternoon. I plan to take my gym bag and head to the gym after he's with the friends.
Wii Fit time: Put in 35 minutes today. I got to laughing so hard during the obstacle course (that was my cardio for today) as I'd accidentally chosen Advanced and couldn't get past the first few running platforms without falling off. I knew I needed to start as a Beginner again, but finished the time falling off first.
And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, You may freely eat of every tree in the garden. (Genesis 2:16)
After God created Adam and Eve, He gave them some very simple dining instructions. Did He say, "You may freely eat of every Krispy Kreme on the street"? No. Did He say, "You may freely eat of every chip in the bag?" No. he did not tell them to freely eat fast food, frozen pizza, or even low-fat cookies.
God told them to eat from the garden, and we'd do well to stick to His advice. We've been inundated with an overwhelming amount of bad diet information from past decades that has clouded the very simple truths of healthy eating: eat the foods that come from God, in as close a state as possible to how God made them, and you can't go wrong.
Take a step of faith and begin to trust God to lead you in your eating habits. Ask Him to teach you how to eat healthily, and watch to see how much better you feel.
