Driveway & Curbing Projects

Monday, June 24, 2013

Front walkway-before

Front walkway-after

Driveway before

Starting the process of mixing up the Chattahoochee river rock that was applied to
the driveway and walkway

Mixing the epoxy into the rock

Making progress-almost halfway done

Finished driveway

We had our driveway coated with the Chattahoochee river rock in January, just before DH fell and broke his hip. We were really worried the ramp we had to build would mar it but the workers were very careful and put down carpet under all the supports to protect the driveway and it looks as good now as when it was installed.

Side of the carport before the edging was installed

Same side of the house after the edging was installed

This was the truck with all the equipment, concrete mix, etc.

Front of house before curbing was installed

Installing the curbing along the sidewalk and front of house

Back yard flower bed before

Back flower bed after installation

Putting the imprint on the concrete to make it look like brick

The west side of our house

I still have to go in and spread the rock and will have to get more rock to fill in because the curbing now is wider than where our edge was before but it really has made a difference in the appearance of our home.

Since we had our driveway done, 3 more residents have had their driveways done with the rock and several others are planning on doing it.

Hope you enjoyed a picture tour of our projects

They did a great job! Thanks for all the pics showing us the work in process as well as before and after. It looks very nice. No wonder you neighbors are 'copying' you!

emoticon I especially love the idea of imprinting the concrete to make it look like brick - I hate it when brick topple over - this is an idea I believe I will look into when we do the outside - but that will be quite sometime

That looks stupendous! I can see why others are also looking into this as well. A very good plan to beautify the area with the added benefit of safety. I LOVE IT!

Oh wow Pat what nice pics!! Thanks for sharing. My cousin had some borders done like that around her most recent house she lives in.............I think that would be house number 8 or 9 if I am correct. She buys and fixes up then sells...........I would be so sick of packing & unpacking!! So now I have somewhat idea of how this process is done. Very nice!!! Enjoy!!
