WOW! Only 2 weeks left of the diabetes challenge!!
I lost 1 pound. I know that is good, but the weight was coming off pretty regular until..............the MEGA STRESS hit.
Oh my! I am living proof that if you are going through stress! You will not lose weight.
It started with the decision to let MA come home. This is her home after 26 years- her family was on the war path about it. They want a re-hab where she'll refuse to cooperate. God gave me the words to deflate and defeat every argument her family had. I don't think they had any idea how long I had prayed over this! Prayer, my secret weapon! LOL!! There was a Petra (Christian Rock group from the 80s) song that said "I've got a secret weapon! I'll pray for you!"
Then Fri. at 2:45 a.m. we lost electricity from storms. We watched all the people across the alley get power back Friday night! Ours was not back- it came back Saturday at 3:50 p.m.!!
Everything I had to do for our group home gals and our children with disabilities was 100X harder in the dark. The days were cloudy and stormy.
On top of all of that the paperwork is not completed for our youngest daughters adoption. So every 30 days Tom has to drive her 3 hours to meet the family from Iowa who do not want to keep her, but they still have custody. So Tom was gone 6 hours Sat and 6 hours Sunday leaving me to do MAs cares alone- lifting- transitioning to potty/bed.
It was 3 looooong days. My 23 yr old daughter Grace, my helper was gone to a seminar. My older at home kids were amazingly helpful. We have adult kids (34,21,20,18) who don't visit anymore because they do not like having grown up like this. Funny thing is I have pictures of them having a happy childhood. I think I spoiled them too much because they expect too much from others as well as us. And they don't give back much. I've told them I'm sorry for not teaching them to serve others more. They think too highly of themselves. And the world encourages them.
Anyhoo I digress.
Stress stinks! Heres to a less stress filled week!
God is Good!
(((HUGS))) to all!
