I get bored easily. It's a known fact. If you can keep me interested, I'll happily be loyal. But if I get too bored, I start crashing around looking for another shiny object.
So I've decided this week to treat it like the first week of a new routine. I'll find things to do that are different and keep me interested so I can become more habitual in my work. I've done a lot of exercise in the last few weeks, been good at tracking my exercise and my activity and my food, and now am ramping up more calories (something that I am finding hard to do with my new mental model of food-- lots of veggies to fill me up, less carbs outside of fruit... still hitting 1500 was a bit more challenging than I had hoped)
Anyway-- today I'll log several miles of foot pounding, then tomorrow I'll find something new. God willing, I'll get to kettlebells on wednesday after my class, and then thursday, a break day (but maybe a bit of Michael Jackson experience on the Wii with the kids), and then hit the weekend with a vengeance.
It'll be hot this week -- something I don't adapt well to, but frankly, I need to get back in the 170's. I plateaued last week, and it's annoying. But, no stopping now. I'm ready to keep going.
So this is the next first week in a new routine. Let's hope that works.
