I've outgrown my ticker

Monday, June 24, 2013

I've outgrown my ticker and not in a good way!

Reached MAX this morning! What is up with that? Something is obviously not agreeing with me. Maybe it was the cheesecake?

Maybe it was the bacon on toast?

Maybe it was the half a carrot muffin I shared with DH?

Maybe it is the heat?

Maybe it was the salt in the guacamole on Sat night?

Maybe it is ALL OF THE ABOVE!!!

Okay so obviously I have to do something about it! My physical is a month away and if I go back on "The Plan" and stick to it, ( friendly days only) then I am going to lose at least 5 of the pounds I gained. Well that is the theory!

It scares me to think that in such a short time being OFF PLAN I can gain so much, okay so there was my monthly visitor that did not help....but I have to find a way to stick to the plan long enough to lose those 15 - 20 pounds that I have gained over the last 3 years and MAINTAIN! I need to find out what it is that makes me blow up like a blow fish emoticon
and gain unreasonable amounts in no time!

Today is going to be a hot one! - it is going to be 30 C this afternoon !!!

I started off the day with two glasses of lemon water, one cup of dandelion tea, and just finished up my flax seed granola and blueberries with rice dream.

One meal down, only 2 more to go and I will have a successful day! ( oh and the snack!)

Calling all my cheer leaders,

I need you! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

This weekend our kids were at a church camp and they had a blast!
They came home filthy, exhausted but happy!

We had a good time, we rearranged the living room while they were gone! ( They complained, they don't like change) and then we went out for dinner on Sat night! ( much needed, I was too tired to make dinner) - I had chicken and goat's cheese salad, which had beets in it and sunflower seeds, YUM!!!!

Anyway.....
Yesterday the camp ended with a family time of games ( blind man's bluff and an adaptation of musical chairs and you know....family type games)
The kids had done a tie -dye shirt each, and they did a great job!

Here is a pic of Blind Man's bluff - they were in partners and had to follow the voice of their partner while they were blindfolded!

Then we had a BBQ and then an outdoor service! It was HOT!

We had smoothies for dinner after that! ( I add spinach to it and the kids now KNOW I do that and still drink it! LOL)

It was a good break and I enjoyed the change of pace and scenery! I was so relaxed...
and DH and I had some good time together having conversations that were not interrupted by having to do stuff for kids or discipline or give instructions! As nice as it was, I missed my two little ones so much! Glad they had a good time, but I am glad they are back home!

We have 3 days of school and then SUMMER HOLIDAYS!

WHOO HOO!

And...we are still waiting for the duck eggs to hatch!

okay one thing at a time, going back to healthier choices is one, but I hope you are getting some walking, biking or swimming in with the children. You know how to do it, you don't have to beat yourself up, you just start each day as a new one. We've all have backslid and we understand how it happens.

C'mon Mel, I know you can do this, I've seen it!! I've been struggling too. Do you think it's time for another 30 day challenge?

Sorry I've been MIA lately. School let out, hubby was on vacation, and I started a new class. So busy, busy, busy! But I'm hoping to be around more now again.

Chin up and onward we go!

How quickly weight returns compared to how long it takes to recede has been a long standing lament of mine. LOL Something very unfair about it all.

{{{HUGS}}} So sorry you reacted to some or all of the food :(
Wheat, sugar and sodium seem to be the culprit here. Take a deep breath, focus, start over with the Plan and stick to it, eliminating what you already know you are reactive too (bread!)

Take it one day at a time!!

You have got this! I have noticed since I eat cleaner that an overly salty dish makes me blow up. It is crazy water retention. The other day my fingers looked like sausages. That and my hormones have been all over the place recently. Now, for me completely eliminating things does not work. I just eat less of them and try and take a moment before I choose them to decide if I really want it. Sometimes that pause is enough to stop it and I don't feel like I am missing out.

Since I came back here I have not been perfect (trying not to obsess) and even with the little changes and moving more my pants are looser. On a side note, it is amazing how much my body changed when I gained this last time around. I didn't gain a lot but boy did I get more cellulite. What is up with that??? I never really had much of that before. Ugh!

Go Mel!
