A gain even though I went down a size?! NEW shoes!

Monday, June 24, 2013

I went shopping yesterday and realized that I had gone from sixe 3XL to XL pant size. My husband noticed as I was wearing a 2XL that it was too loose, so I was like- you want me to try on a XL??? And it fit!!

Meanwhile, on the scale I had gained 3LBS:S I have had a crazy last week of school with students filled with lots of food (BBQ, gifts (with 2 chocolates), supper with father in law, staff party, etc). It's been awful for me to keep track of my calories. In the past I would beat myself up for it, but I will not today. I will keep on trucking. My clothes still feel lighter, and I saw a picture that reminded me that the scale is not the most important indicator! It's nice to use to give some accountability, but is not the best indicator.

I have splurged and bought some new running shoes (am on week 4 of the walk/jog program) and they are super nice. I have NEVER bought such an $$ pair of shoes, but I'm told by MANY people, that it is a MUST to have good shoes to jog. My husband was so great yesterday-he bought me some new work out pants, shirt, bra etc. It was his way of motivating me, and it was super nice. I have never worn those tight work out pants before, since I was too shy, but I thought I looked halfway decent ;)

The last 2 days I have had my foot up since my ankle and knee have been pretty sore (to the point of having trouble sleeping) so decided to give it a rest, I did work out 6/7 days last week. My body is NOT used to this at all. This AM my ankle feels a lot better so will start the walk/jog week 4 :) (The gain & the not working out was hard at first, but it's only normal that I get a gain once in a while, and if I didn't give myself time to heal, I will surely be on the couch for more than 2 days!)

Don't rush it, it will be better. I too have been stuck on the number on the scale, I am smaller now, look better and weigh more than I did several years ago. I guess your picture explains it all. Best of luck on your journey, and remember that it is ok to let loose once in a while. emoticon

Don't get discouraged. Just get right back on it.
