Day 84 - Baseball, Reading, and Storms
Sunday, June 23, 2013
Today is my day off from work and I enjoyed it immensely! I walked 3 miles this morning, took a cool shower, and off my son and I went to his baseball game. For an hour before the game, I LOVE sitting in my lawn chair and read my Kindle! I discovered a way to rent library books for free on my Kindle! Yay! So, I am reading historical romance novels...it pure mindless joy with no real thinking involved.
His game began and my husband showed up. He loves to get there when the game just begins and leaves in the last inning if my son is not up to bat. So I have to stay there for field clean-up and the coach's speech to the players. So I read again!
My son pitched the last three innings. We were already losing and he did quite well ending their scoring streak. He did stop the game once with a bad stomach cramp. He was on the mound and he just doubled over. The players and coaches ran out to him and requested water. It was an extremely hot day! He was able to finish the inning and the game!
After I filled his belly with Dairy Queen sundae, he went to a friend's house to swim...but in the distance it looked dark. By the time I got home, my husband was mowing the lawn and lightning was now streaking across the sky.
I stayed outside and watched the storm roll in. A lot of overhead lightning, long grumbling thunders, some winds, and no rain. The minute my husband finished with the lawn, it started sprinkling. The temp dropped from high 80's to low 70's.
I am in my calorie ranges and watching TV. Tomorrow, I will be using my free week pass at Curves. My neighbor will be picking me up at 6:30 am. Yawn... Hopefully I can walk a mile or two afterwards before heading in to work. I picked up a lot of hours, 30 extra hours, on top of my regular 22 hours! Cha-Ching! But not really.... I also picked up 30 extra hours for the following week, so this will be great practice to see if I can get my walking in before heading in to work!
Well, enough of my ramblings.....
Hope everyone enjoyed their weekends!
