We took a short overnight trip to Atlanta this week and while we were there we visited Stone Mountain, Georgia. Stone Mountain is made of primarily granite composed of quartz, plagioclase feldspar, microcline and muscovite, with smaller amounts of biotite and tourmaline, according to Wikipedia. The mountain is about 1,686 feet high and has three historic Southern icons, Robert E. Lee, Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson, and Jefferson Davis carved into the front of the mountain.
Here are a few of the pictures that we took.
I love to see the beauty of God's creation in our world. His handiwork is awesome and declares His glory!
