My walk on the wild side birthday week

Sunday, June 23, 2013

It was the best birthday WEEK ever! I feel like I was partying from one end of the week to the other. I tried my best to do the right thing most of the time, but other times it just got away from me. But I'm so grateful to have several groups of really good friends who wanted to celebrate with me, and who can say no to that? So I didn't track my food a couple of days, and other days I started but no way could I finish tracking when it got complicated! Like how do you track sushi when you stop counting how many you ate? and who besides a Sushi lover even heard of Kani salad?much less how to count it? But it was fun, what I call "A walk on the wild side!" Yes, endless sushi is wild for me, and at my age I make no excuses for that!
So today on the way home from church, after a sermon that included a reference to gluttony in Proverbs 23, I passed by all the fast food stops, and passed up all the crunchy bagged snacks when I bought my coffee and paper at the drive thru. I made a nice lunch with an avocado spread on whole grain toast (Ezekiel Bread) and watched "FOOD, INC." a great video, on my Kindle. Those food documentaries always set me straight, AND TODAY WAS NO EXCEPTION! So now I'm back on track for the new week and ready to meet my healthy emoticon emoticon guidelines again.

Update: I didn't lose the hoped for 2 pounds by my birthday, but I did lose .6, which was a small miracle in itself.

Glad you had a fun and wonderful week for your birthday. It doesn't sound like you went crazy and that you enjoyed yourself. Glad you are back on track and I am sure if your naughtiest indulgence was eating sushi, you will probably not have a terrible result. Even if you do, you will soon recover from it. Happy belated birthday.

Happy to hear you had fun with your friends celebrating your Birthday. I've never had Sushi so maybe I'm missing out on eating something delicious. Being it's fish I would think it would be rather low in calories? Tomorrow is a fresh start as this is a lifestyle not a diet as you know well. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
