So today I turned 54, and like usual we go to church except I had a desire to go earlier than 8:15am so we got there at 7:30am.
Hubby drove off to a cash machine and to talk to his friends at the grocery store deli, that he didn't see all week.
I sat down with my Kindle Fire, needing to update some games as I can't get my wi fi to see the Kindle (help!) at home.
But it was not to be. Instead I got to fold a few hundred bulletins that were forgotten or left to be done this morning. Saturday had been the Pastor's daughter's marriage, and the church secretary's pretty yard was the location of wedding and reception, so busy week.
I did not go to wedding as hubby was working and I do not drive. It was 90 degrees, wiltingly hot and I don't do well in the heat.
So I guess my desire to get to church was a call to do a wee bit of volunteering. For my birthday.
Service is good and it was relaxing.
I did have some dinner out so it was a good day
and I think I am out of shock at turning 54.
My Dad died at this age so it feels somewhat scary.
Another reason to remember to eat more colorful nature foods.
