No kayaking today... for a change. Might not get out again until Saturday or Sunday, as my brother has training all week. I did get out for my run today. I ran 3.2 miles in 32 minutes. Well, I ran the first two miles then ran intervals for the last 1.2 mile stretch. Even walking a bit I made pretty good time. I think I will do a short run tomorrow.
I have had some very late nights with evening kayaking, but last night was the latest. I didn't get home until almost 1am. That is why I didn't post a blog yesterday. It felt weird not to at least post a quick update. But we went to the moonlight paddle, and didn't even get on the water until 8pm. Then we paddled for a couple of hours before hanging out with other kayakers and snacking on some healthy eats. We took cherries and strawberries. Other folks brought, naan, veggies, hummus, crackers and dip, as well as junk food like chips and cookies. I pretty much stayed with the healthier stuff. I hadn't eaten dinner yet, so that ended up being dinner.
As a result of our late night neither Cooper nor I wanted to get up this morning. I got up for a little while, but went back to bed until noon. I never stay in bed that late, but all those late nights really caught up with me. This week I will concentrate on my running. I am really starting to look forward to the race on Saturday. The advance forecast is now calling for rain, but that might change. I never trust the forecast that far ahead.
