This weekend I knew was going to be a challenge I am having cravings do to T.O.M. coming soon and I would be out away from my safety of good food choices. I drank my morning Vi shake ,packed plenty of water and prepare a cream-cheese wrapped in corned beef snack. I was ready ....or so I thought. Hubby and I dive about an hour to the Chena Hot Springs to enjoy the day with friends. Got tickets for the things we wanted to do then decided to go to the restaurant. They were still serving breakfast so I got a ham eggs and cheese croissant. not a bad choice I ate half and was satisfied next we walked off our meal and checked out the reindeer and ducks I saw a moose that was exciting, then on to our first activity ATV Tour. I had a great time saw three more moose and a calf and some great sights. Next was the Ice museum where I declined the appletini even thou I really wanted an ice glass lol but hey I wanna be healthy and I was only half way thru my day. We all decide to go to the movies back in town so we headed back. I stopped home made a quick omelet and changed clothes. At the movies Hubby got a large fruit punch and small popcorn. Great he was being supportive didnt buy the jumbo. It didnt help once seated I dug my hand in the popcorn and then............I drank the punch! I knew it was gonna happen. I consumed about 70 carbs total on sat. I dont know if this will send me out of ketosis but I hope not. I dont want to deal with the headaches and feeling that come with going back. I decided that this is the lifestyle I want to live I feel its the best for me. I have been able to have most things and found that whipcream on jello is awesome for my sweet craving when pmsing and pork rinds help with the chip cravings so I need to work on living outside my home. I cant seem to resist the movie pop corn and I dont want to ban myself from the theater. The popcorn isnt so bad maybe I just need to buy a water instead of drinking hubby drink.

    Actually it sounds like you did pretty well with all those temptations!

The carbs will knock you out of ketosis for a few hours to a day or so, but if you're back on track you'll start burning fat again soon. Alcohol, for instance, will shut down ketosis instantly, because your body needs to take care of it ASAP and everything else takes a back seat for a while. It temporarily actually DROPS your blood glucose, but by morning it will generally spike again.

If you get PMS cravings you can also try small servings (1-2 tablespoons) of flavored whipped cream cheese. The strawberry is usually very good, I'm not so fond of the blueberry, though. And I usually keep Reddi Whip and Chocolate Reddi Whip on hand for those hormonal cravings! As long as they don't send you into a binge they're not too damaging. If they DO set you up for cravings then don't mess with them.

    I think you did a pretty good job on your fun day. Try to increase your water today and add in one cup of hot green tea with a lemon to help detox but I think you will be fine.
