"An hourglass figure, with most of the sand in the bottom"

Sunday, June 23, 2013

(That's a [rough] quote from Krista Scott-Dixon of the Stumptuous website. I consider Stumptuous the best resource on the internet for women's strength training.)
I'm going to a wedding in one week, and happily, my party dress fits me. Sorta. It's a little baggy in the waist, but just barely accommodates my hips.
I'm working on re-framing this observation so I am glad of my small waist instead of mad at my big hips.
It's not worth getting it tailored--heaven knows, as soon as I did, my waist would blow up like a balloon. Welcome to the wonderful world of being a fifty-something!
So I'll just be comfortable with my hourglass, wherever the sand ends up!

I am in the same boat and club as you are !!!

Sand is definitely at the bottom and I am in my early 50s.

I know the feeling - I consider myself a pear shape which is the same as an hourglass with all the sand in the bottom. Really hard to get clothes to fit at the waist. Enjoy what you have!
