Well - lets just say my morning didn't start out so well. But my pity party is over so I did a little google checking and was surprised to find out that crying only burns 1.3 calories a minute? Really?!? That's all?
You can add some calorie burning to your cry session by punching your fists into a pillow, rocking back and forth...or even pacing while crying. (Great for those of you with fitbits - extra steps!!)
Of course, the best way to combat a sad/ mad/ frustrated/ depressed mood is to GET MOVING. Go for a walk and you should feel better. Even if you don't feel completely healed - you will have furthered your exercise goal and feel better about that.
And if you have a dog - your mood will increase faster. I'm sure there is scientific proof to support this but I can tell you from personal experience - dogs are great workout partners & therapists.
And now off to church for a real attitude adjustment.
