Week 1 of the Stress Busting Challenge

So - I've signed up for the Stress Busting Challenge. No doubt I need it - I seem to get very stressed these days and haven't really figured out why. Sometimes I only realise the state I am in when I am getting close to exhaustion, and I get so much shoulder/neck tension that I get a screaming headache and I head for the chiropractor. At the moment I've just had 2 weeks of sick leave from work because of my headache/neck pain/exhaustion. Slept most of the first week (I needed it) and the 2nd week I've been acting like I'm at a spa retreat. I've been re-reading Jon Kabbat Zin's Full Catastrophe Living and starting myself off on the 8-week program there for MBSR, that has me doing daily 45-minute sessions of something mindful. Thursday last week I came across SparkPeople and signed up, thinking this could be a good way to motivate me to do something about my fitness levels too - surely running or something like that will help with my stress levels?
Anyway - week 1 of the SP Stress Busting Challenge says I should write a journal each day to record when I feel stress. So I'm starting here on my Blog pages. It might be a bit weird this particular week since I am away from work and have managed to come down from my high stress level (i think). But let's give it a try :-)

    Stress can affect you health wise so getting it in hand is a great thing, looks like you are on your way! Hope the time off work helped you greatly and you find ways to handle life like exercise, I know my walking, yoga, Tae-Bo & aerobics helps with managing stress~ emoticon

    I did the stress-busting challenge during a particularly stressful time at work and it helped.
