Well, it's been an interesting 24 hours. I had trouble sleeping last night, for a very strange reason. I've been prone to night leg cramps all my adult life. Okay, I know that's a fairly common problem, but I've come up with a weird variation on it. I get night cramps in my right hand! I have absolutely never heard of that. I thought it might be carpal tunnel syndrome at first, but I know it's not. I only get it in my sleep, and it's clearly a cramp. I have no idea what to do about that.

One nice thing, however -- I've been getting beaten up online with some of the comments I've posted. However, on Huffington Post today I discovered I actually have 22 "fans!" Guess I must be doing something right.

I had a baked potato and a pork steak for dinner. I am very proud of how the pork turned out -- with all due modesty, I'm turning into a pretty good meat cook.

It's going to be a couple of weeks (read: paychecks), but the next cookbook(s) for the collection will be about baking, particularly breads. When I was still living with my husband I baked quite a lot of our bread, and I miss it. I do want to learn cheesecake and some sweets as well.

Yesterday would have been my 38th wedding anniversary. Funny, it wasn't supposed to turn out this way. Oh, well...

I started my cooking career with baking. Its still my favorite thing to do on a snow day. Today - 90 degrees, not so much!

I just bought two cookbooks of ethnic foods--the box came from Amazon, but I haven't opened it yet. I'm savoring their very existence!

I used to love to bake bread, but now that I'm gluten intolerant, I don't bother.

I have had baking stones crack in the oven, corning ware and pyrex, I think it is because I don't preheat my oven.

I love to bake, but I'm sure I'm not as good as you! Save your pennies for the next cookbook!

I have no suggestions about the cramp. Definitely a cramp, not that your hand fell asleep?
I love to cook and bake but never make bread. That would be interesting.

Ah baking - not my forte. However, I can highly recommend a book I bought for my DIL when she began to get interested in baking bread. She absolutely loves it, and she can bake bread better than many bakery breads. It is The Bread Bakers Apprentice: mastering the Art of Extraordinary Bread by Peter Reinhart. You can buy it on Amazon. That is where I bought hers. It's on sale for $23.88 at the moment. It's very well written with lots of pictures and illustrations. The foccocia is amazing! I requested it the last time we were there.

I too recommend seeing the Dr for your hand cramps.

Have you ever tried to create a sourdough for bread? See if you can find someone with some starter. For years I made sourdough bread once a week.

I have been told drinking plenty of water can help with cramping.

Mention the cramp to your doctor when you next go there, it could be nothing but it could also be serious.
Your meal sounds nice!

Ok, you've heard it already, but I'll say it too. See the Dr. about the hand cramps.

Glad you have some "fans" on your comments!

HUGS and smiles.

That is odd about the cramp. You should see a doctor about that one.

That is great that you have supporters, whoo-hoo! I had to tape Bobby and I'm watching it right now. YUM!
