Update on mom...

Saturday, June 22, 2013

Talked to mom today after I spoke to the bank. My half of our bank account is screwed up now as they took money out of my half of our account to cover mom's overdraft and I am now without any money at all in the account.

I had a total of two hundred and ninety one dollars in my half of the account and now have zip...zero...nada...nothing.

I am supposed to call back on Monday and hoping it will get straightened out.

Anyway...Mom sounded OK but weak on the phone and said she still could not eat anything.

The doctor is suggesting a feeding tube for her.

Also after Tuesday she may be getting out of Rehab anyway...after being in this time for only ten days as she went in on June 13th or there about.

Do you think this is fair or should she stay longer?.

I mean she will NOT eat at all and she does therapy but only about thirty minutes a day and cannot get out of bed without assistance.

Wow Lance I hope you can get the bank account straightened out. I don't know what is best for your mom. Sometimes it is even harder to get enough rest and enough food in a hospital because the patient is constantly interrupted. I guess it depends on the care situation at the nursing home or rehab center. My mom did much better when she moved to the rehab center. emoticon

It's not fair but if she's on medicare that's how it works....doesn't matter if she's well enough or not. Medicare will only pay for so many days.
